May: And Such Were Some of You

The process of salvation is astounding, revealing the power, glory and mercy of God.  Think about it for a moment…

When a child is born, though sinful, they are virgin and as uncontaminated as they are ever going to be.   On our own, we become defiled as sin takes the reigns.  For most of us, with God it’s pretty much downhill from there.  But God takes the defiled, sinful and makes it virgin in His sight.  It’s a complete reversal, ending in the promise of eternal life.  It’s impossible, demonstrating the power of God.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
