Nov: Faith Made Perfect by Works

Though we have been adopted into the family of God solely by His grace and of no good works of our own, the Lord’s desire and expectation is that we would become fruitful and active in the works He has given us to do.  Opportunities abound, but alas, the workers are few.

Numerous parables spoken by the Lord Jesus clearly show that we will be called to account for how we responded to the grace given to us, and that we are to be busy about His work.  This flows from a heart sincerely thankful for all He has done for us, not by constraint.

Instead of looking for ways to get out of service, we should be asking the question of the psalmist: “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?”  (Psalm 116:12)
